This Easter Saturday, April 4th, Kuitpo Hall invites families to step back in time and celebrate Easter as it was in the 1880s. The Great Easter Egg Hunt promises a day filled with old-fashioned fun, adventure, and community spirit. Whether you’re a local or visiting from nearby Meadows, Echunga, or Mount Barker, this event offers a unique way to enjoy the holiday with your family in a safe and welcoming environment.

The Main Event: The Great Egg Hunt
The highlight of the day is the Great Egg Hunt, but this is no ordinary search for eggs! The entire Kuitpo Hall settlement grounds will transform into an Easter playground, inviting children to explore and discover hidden treasures.
The Hunt
Children will roam the historic grounds, searching for eggs and treats tucked away in clever hiding spots. Every child receives a basket at the gates to keep, along with a chance to decorate them at the decoration tables. What a fun way to kick off the day!
The Experience
Costumed settlers dressed in authentic 1880s attire will mingle with guests. This immersive atmosphere helps families connect with history while enjoying the festive spirit. It’s like stepping into a storybook!
The Prize
Every child leaves with chocolate treats and keepsakes, creating lasting memories of a day spent in a bygone era. Who doesn’t love a sweet surprise?
A Feast in the "Horseshoe" Marketplace
We’ve curated a "Food Tavern" that offers a lot more than just your standard fair food. Our vendor horseshoe will be the heart of the settlement:
Bella’s Food: Our official anchor vendor! Hugo will be serving up incredible Brazilian Street Food—the perfect hearty lunch for a busy family.
Lions Club BBQ: For those who love a classic, the Lions Club will be on the tongs for a traditional community barbecue. Yum!
Potato On A Stick: Matthew brings the fun with slushies that will have you coming back for second, and a potato on a stick that leaves you hungry for more!
Artisans & Entertainment
Between hunts, explore the unique stalls that make our settlement special:
3D Treats and Collectables: Johnny3D is a massive hit with kids (and adults!).
SipNCo: Discover 3D printed ornaments and keychains, along with kids' drinking cups and bottles featuring personalised designs.
Face Painting by Lisa: Get into character with professional face painting to complete your look.
Bohemian Treasures: Take a moment to browse Leslee’s beautiful bohemian items for a unique keepsake.
Safe, Local Fun
Your family’s safety is our priority, which is why we are proud to have St John Ambulance on-site for the duration of the event. We’ve kept ticket prices accessible at $35 for a Family Pass (2 Adults + 2 Kids) to ensure every local family can join the fun.

The Great Egg Hunt: How it Works
To ensure every little pioneer has a successful mission and plenty of space to explore, we are running our hunt in organised age-based waves. This means no "mad-scramble"—just a fun, fair experience where every child gets their moment to shine!
Wave 1: The Little Settlers (Ages 3–5)
A gentle, magical start in a dedicated zone perfect for smaller hands and shorter legs.
Wave 2: The Junior Pioneers (Ages 6–8)
For our primary-aged explorers who are ready to navigate the settlement and find those trickier hiding spots.
Wave 3: The Master Pathfinders (Ages 9–12)
Our most challenging hunt! These older pioneers will need a sharp eye to track down the treasures hidden across the Kuitpo Hall grounds.
Final Run: Ages 13+
Get ready for the mad scramble to find the remaining eggs! Three Golden eggs are hidden with magical surprises!
Hop on down and join the fun!
